I'm participating in a blog link-up over at Wives of Faith where military wives can share with each other what's going on in our lives. Some of the questions will be funny, and some serious. It's another way to connect and it sounds good to me!
What's your favorite scripture verse? Why does it have such special meaning to you?
Psalm 34: 4-7(ESV)
4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.
It seems I have a running theme here: FEAR and how I continually have to let the Lord take it from me. I often have to remind myself of all the ways the Lord has been with me and that, together, we overcame so many obstacles. I continue to hold His strong Hand and seek Him out. If I let my past rule me I would be full of shame. FULL of it. I would be full of depression and fear and full of trouble. I'd much rather have a radiant face and a glow from the inside out, than a downcast face full of sadness and shame. More than that, I love that "the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them". We are never alone. Never!
I hope you'll join in and share your favorite verse. Even if you're not a military wife, I would love to read what your favorite verses are and why in the comments below.
Because of Him~

One of my favorite verses is Psalm 51:12-13 - Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. (KJV)
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me that there is ultimate joy in confessing and being cleansed from sin (the theme of the whole chapter). This joy and freedom helps those who have no hope in God see that there is hope and they come to the Lord. They are set free and given new hope in Christ.
Shannon, I think sometimes we all need to have that joy restored unto us. We got so bogged down and lose sight of showing the love of Christ to others that we forget that joy. I remember the day I was saved, I felt lighter than air and shared my news with everyone I met! Thanks for sharing this.
DeleteMy friend! I'm so glad you shared. I can't imagine my life without the hope that comes from Jesus Christ. You are so right about the joy that comes with repentance. Burdens are lifted, faith is renewed and rejuvenated! Our hope tank is full and we're ready to face this life anew!
DeleteI'd rather be radiant right there with you. I created a graphic with that verse and posted it on my blog. Here is the link
