I'm participating in a blog link-up over at Wives of Faith where military wives can share with each other what's going on in our lives. Some of the questions will be funny, and some serious. It's another way to connect and it sounds good to me!
What are three goals that you want to see fulfilled a year from now?
1. I want to be able to say that we did it! We read our Bible in a year, we found a church home, we made great friends, we visited family, we made it through the holidays without The Hubs, and that we made it through our first year here without Murphy's Law striking us. I want to be able to say all of those things and more!
2. I want to feel like myself again. By this I mean that I want to have my energy levels back up to where they were when I was swimming a mile a day. I want to be able to do more than take a fifteen minute walk with my family. I want to be able to go hiking and to endure a regular grocery shopping trip without pain and exhaustion at the end of it!
3. I want to have our photos printed and put into albums. Call me old fashioned, but I like sitting on the couch and looking through photo albums. I think I'll take up digital scrap-booking. Maybe. I mostly just want the pictures in albums.
Those are my three goals this morning. They could change by this afternoon because I'm taking myself to the commissary at which point I will probably wish that I could add on that I will hire someone to do my grocery shopping for me. This commissary is actually really big and great! I haven't hit it at a very busy time yet...on purpose! Fort Benning's commissary was double C-R-A-Z-Y. I learned my lesson there about shopping the day before, on, and the day after pay day. Do not do it. I also learned how to drive defensively with a shopping cart! I do miss the singing bagger, though. He sang the best songs and seemed to change his tune according to his customer. I only heard him sing aggressively once, ha ha! It was NOT directed at me, thank goodness! Maybe I should become the singing shopper? This could be the answer to all my grocery shopping woes. Or not!
I hope you'll hop on over to Wives of Faith and visit the other ladies who have posted. It would be great to hear what three goals you might hope to fulfill in the next year!
Yours Truly,
Jhona O.

HI There
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to feeling better too. Great goals to accomplish.
Great goals for the year! Trust me, You can do it. If I can, anyone can! I love photo albums too. I really hate how I've allowed digital technology to interfere with my photo albums. I am WAY behind.
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! On the digital scrapbooks: If you use shutterfly, you can get on their email list and I have printed 7 scrapbboks, 20-30 pages each, medium sized, and I LOVE them! We have been married 8 years, and so far I have done 1f or each of the 1st 5 years, one of our family photo shoot last summer, and 1 for my stepson's summer sent with us last year. They are an absolute blessing! No bringing out the tub of supplies and breaking everything out only to get interrupted by the kiddos, put everything back in the tub and leave it on the shelf for another 5 years! I know, I still have my tub with my wedding and honeymoon in a tub with the crapbook on page 4...But a digital book you click it openupload a ton of pics, put as many or as little as you would like with a ton of different colors, patterns for backgrounds, fonts, stickers, the works! And you can change EVERYTHING! It is addicting. I keep one finished so when I get a good ecoupon from them, I can get it!
ReplyDeleteIt made me smile to read about how your goals will change by the afternoon, and your commentary on the commissary. I am right there with ya! And the commissary shopping experience has challenged me as a home cook on many levels. The main one being that recipe planning is always an adventure...you never know what they will have in stock! I don't shop there as often now, but for years it was my only grocery store. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI also loved reading that your goals might change by the afternoon! I totally understand that. My goals also have to do with getting pictures out of boxes and computer files and out where we can enjoy them.
